There are plenty of ways to plant bulbs . Either plan your garden displays before planting your bulbs, filling gaps in borders with drifts of a single species to ensure colour and interest before shrubs and perennials burst to life. Or mix things up by blending bulbs together throughout your borders for a more natural look.

If you are planning on planting your bulbs in containers layer them as you go, dividing each layer with soil. This will give you a long colourful display next spring.  Always remember to plant the latest flowering bulb at the bottom of the pot. Or why not try planting Snowdrops, Bluebells and Crocuses around the base of trees. This will brighten up your garden before the trees come into full leaf and the soil at the base of a tree is moist and light which is perfect for growing bulbs.
