Our Winning Gardening Suggestion!

Thank you for all of your gardening suggestions. From growing ‘cut & come again’ lettuce to using coffee grounds and egg shells to deter slugs, we had a brilliant range of suggestions.  Unfortunately there can only be one winner. We felt that this winning suggestion ticked all the boxes- it’s innovitive, easy and cost effective. So congratulations to Gerri Tennant who came up with this helpful, handy tip-

“If you are growing vegetables and have trouble with slugs try growing inexpensive lettuce seeds around the edge of your plot (especially useful for raised beds) the slugs will feast on the lettuce and hopefully not attack anything inside (there may even be enough for you as well!)”

Your No Nonsense Gardening Book  by Christine Walkden will be on it’s way to you as soon as possible!

Ms. Tennant had this to say about winning our competition-

“What wonderful news.  As a newcomer to vegetable gardening this couldn’t have come at a better time, I only have a small garden and we are cramming whatever we can into every nook and cranny.”

Look out for more competitions on our blog! We’ll have plenty of chances to win brilliant gardening prizes in the future, so keep your eyes peeled!
